Empowerment Through Ongoing Training
NPP NWO events aim to fosters a nationwide initiative with the goal of empowering Ghanaian women and girls. In this context, Regional Organizers and delegates from all constituencies periodically have the opportunity to hear personal stories of how women leaders in the country got involved in politics and to ask them questions on leadership. The programs will then vary by location, but all women and girls participating will get a chance to network and hear best practices in several fields in order to improve their own lives, businesses and communities.
Mrs. Kate Gyamfua—as well as NPP NWO events—will always encourage women to consider a future in leadership and will always strive to get more women involved in politics by connecting them with female politicians.
Fostering Social Uplifting of Entrepreneurial Women
NPP NWO is on a mission to improve the lives and businesses of one million businesswomen across the country, engage in business forums, and empower women through citizen protection education efforts. We know that change starts at the local level—and we know how crucial it is to support businesswomen, in particular women and girls in underprivileged regions and communities. As one of the most prominent and largest women’s organizations in Ghana, we are especially committed to doing our part to make sure all women are able to prosper in their commercial activities, and that our experiences and needs are valued, represented and made a priority to those we elect to public office. That’s why we’re working with hundreds of private and public organizations in all 10 Regions to help build political and economic power in our communities.
Encouraging a Healthy Forum of Discussion
The NPP National Women’s Organization continually conducts research to know and act on the public priorities that women care most about in Ghana. We know that discussion of key issues is critical to ensuring a healthy, safe, empowered future for us, our families and our communities. We make sure all voices are heard at the national, regional and local level—and we always double-check with women’s representatives in the community to make sure we are aware of women’s latest and most pressing concerns and priorities.
Across Ghana, Mrs. Kate Gyamfua and the NPP NWO seek to change the narrative and get more women active in leadership and politics. Why? Still today, even with women being half of the population, political decisions are mostly made by me. To initiate change, we should start early: with women across the demographic spectrum: from queen mothers to young adults and girls. For most of them, getting involved in politics and social activism is not something they consider doing in their lives. To address this, NPP NWO seeks to raise awareness about how women can and should play an important role in the political decision-making process and in the public sphere.
